Meet Mark Pruitt
Mark Pruitt is a seasoned psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, spanning various settings including community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. His extensive background also encompasses roles in mental health management, social work supervision, and the founding and operation of a not-for-profit farmed animal sanctuary for a decade.
Drawing from this rich tapestry of experiences, Mark guides individuals towards a deeper comprehension of their emotions and the profound influence of past and present circumstances on their lives. Through this understanding, clients are empowered to make meaningful choices that align with their personal goals, leading to greater fulfillment and satisfaction.
Educationally, Mark holds a Bachelor's degree in geography with a concentration in social work from Northern Kentucky University. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Master's in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, followed by a post-master's certificate in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the American Institute for Psychoanalysis in New York.
Specializing in anxiety, grief, depression, relationship conflict, and existential issues, Mark utilizes a psychodynamic approach enriched with mindfulness techniques. He offers therapy for adults, couples, and adolescents, with both virtual and in-person sessions available to suit individual needs.

I use an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client’s needs. One of my primary modalities is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps clients understand and heal different parts of themselves. As a licensed social worker with 15 years of experience, I help individuals and couples navigate emotions, relationships, and personal growth. Using Internal Family Systems, emotionally focused therapy, and mindfulness, I provide a supportive space for healing and self-discovery. Leo holds a master’s degree in social work, which has equipped him to consider various aspects of a person’s life, including their social, emotional, and environmental factors. Leo's approach to therapy is holistic, considering not only the individual’s psychological well-being but also their broader life circumstances.
Having immigrated from South America as a young man, Leo has a cross-cultural perspective on community and the ability to navigate diverse viewpoints.
Leo has undergone extensive training with various Shamans from Peru, Brazil, and Ecuador. He has completed the Curriculum for Living from Landmark Education, served within the Mankind Project since 2006, and holds leadership positions within the Mankind Project today. These experiences have helped him achieve internal and external balance, power, and maturity while assisting others in stepping into their power by living authentically and with integrity.
